Influence and upheaval at New York Fashion Week
Held bi-annually, New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is one of the biggest opportunities for designers to present their new collections to critics, buyers, and the broader public. While always hotly anticipated, this month’s NYFW was particularly special as it saw a return to in-person runway shows for the first time since February 2020. Over the course of five days, guests viewed designers’ Spring-Summer collections, attended raucous after-parties, and showed off their own eccentric street styles.
What we liked this summer
While the start of the fall semester typically means replacing movie nights with late-night study sessions at Redpath, the Arts & Entertainment team isn’t ready to forget their summer favourites just yet. The McGill Tribune
Thierry Mugler, the iconic French designer, and André Leon Talley, the former creative director of Vogue, both passed away at the age of 73 last month. Both renowned for their work in the fashion industry, the loss of such great talents was tremendously felt by all those who knew them and their work. The McGill Tribune looks back at some of the most iconic pieces from both designers.
