Writing reviews of raves/interviewing DJs for Eternity magazine. The best job ever.

Course. Been a fair while though.
How is social media changing news?
It's introducing more noise, panic and poor sourcing. Separates the wheat from the chaff though I guess.

What's a fictional journalist? It sounds like a bad idea to me.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
There's an idea that it has to be this serious thing, but the most important part is to educate and entertain in equal measure. Also junkets.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Please make sure there actually is a story, and it's not just thinly veiled promotion.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Laptop, notepad (real and digital), camera... plus phone?

Why did you become a journalist?
To live vicariously? Possibly. But it's also a way for me to be involved in all the things I care about, without being good at them.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
We didn't have one. But I did while studying journalism after school -- but that's kinda obvious.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Pride is a sin, isn't it? But I was quite fond of some of the features I turned out at CES this year. Making geeky stuff human is the best.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write write and write some more. Blog the nobs off whatever it is you're interested in. Pitch often, but courteously. Repeat.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Whever as long as it's over email.
