Parathyroid hormone-dependent familial hypercalcemia with low measured PTH levels and a presumptive novel pathogenic mutation in CaSR
Case Report First Online: 23 October 2019 Abstract Familial hypocalciuric hypercalcemia (FHH) is a benign autosomal dominant condition characterized by lifelong asymptomatic hypercalcemia. FHH is typically caused by a heterozygous inactivating mutation of the calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) and characterized by moderate hypercalcemia, inappropriately normal or elevated serum parathyroid hormone (PTH), and relative hypocalciuria (FeCa < 2%) with histologically normal parathyroid glands.

FiguresType 2 diabetes (T2D) is associated with increased risk of myocardial infarction (MI). In the LEADER trial (NCT01179048), liraglutide reduced the risk of a composite cardiovascular (CV) outcome (time to the first occurrence of CV death, non-fatal MI, or non-fatal stroke) versus placebo, both in addition to standard care.

FiguresThe LEADER cardiovascular (CV) outcomes trial (NCT01179048) reported a 13% reduction of the primary composite CV endpoint (CV death, non-fatal myocardial infarction [MI] and non-fatal stroke) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) treated with liraglutide versus placebo, both in addition to standard of care.
