Time vs. Temperature - What changes what?
It is true that there is a negative correlation between cooking time and temperature: the higher the temperature, the shorter the cooking time. But it is highly non-linear. Even if you were to account for the fact that temperature is measured on a ratio, not interval scale where the real zero is at 0 Kelvin, it will still not help you at all. Consider first the easier part of the process: the relationship between the food's internal temperature and the doneness of the food.
Is it really necessary to wash a skillet that will be heated up again soon?
Seems almost every question about bacteria seems to bring about both the bacteriophobes and the cavalier. In this case, the cavalier are probably closer to being right, but I'll try to present the facts so that you can decide for yourself. The most common microbe groups responsible for household food poisoning are: Chances are, you have at least one these friends in your kitchen. Chances are, you have several.
How can I make my fried potatoes not fall apart?
I think the clue here is that your potatoes are almost disintegrating after you've boiled them. If they're doing that, then they will only continue to disintegrate when you sauté or shallow fry them, which is what I assume you're doing and that will happen regardless of the type of potato you're using.
Homemade Yogurt Nutrition Info
The answer is that they are not much different. During fermentation, some of the milk's lactose is converted by bacteria into protein and other substances. The amount of conversion is pretty insignificant in terms of calories and grams of macronutrients. The most important effects are the changes in taste and consistency and the presence of live bacteria. Usually many of the bacteria survive the highly acid stomach fluids to reach the small intestine where they continue digesting lactose.
