Feeding Rates of Sessile and Motile Ciliates are Hydrodynamically Equivalent
Abstract Motility endows microorganisms with the ability to swim to nutrient-rich environments, but many species are sessile. Existing hydrodynamic arguments in support of either strategy, to swim or to attach and generate feeding currents, are often built on a limited set of experimental or modeling assumptions.

Each act of McKay's life a showstopper
By Jack Costello Special to the Sun There are, of course, the stories. Oh yes, the stories I could tell. The stories we all could tell about Tom McKay. And there would not be a book large enough to contain them. Not a thousand books. Our stories were memorable, to say the least.

The blackballed quarterback was honored as Week 1 Community MVP by the players' union for his latest $100,000 donation and a back-to-school giveaway in New York City.

With press credentials, access to rock stars grows easier, so I partied with the Eagles following a Foxboro show in 1976. Openers Boz Scaggs and Fleetwood Mac were also at the party.
