Cannabis sales topped $25 billion in 2021 and are expected to grow to a $90 billion industry by 2026. A significant factor is the revenue generated by these sales for state and local governments.

NJ Department of Health Solicits Applications for up to Six Medical Marijuana Alternative Treatment Centers | Lexology
On June 16, 2018, the New Jersey Department of Health announced its request for applications to operate a medical marijuana alternative treatment center (ATC). The Department announced that it will grant up to six permits, two in each of the northern, southern and central regions of the state. The ATCs will be vertically integrated centers, required to cultivate, manufacture and dispense medical marijuana. Interested applicants will need to be vigilant in the application process.
