After a career in Investment Research focusing on Information Technology, essentially a corporate spy getting objective, third-party info about public companies which followed his career as a Sales VP at several public IT companies, Jack was struck with a rare, incurable blood cancer. Rather than participating in historically popular chemotherapies and become part of that history, Jack engaged a leading oncologist that focuses on cancer care and treatment with Clinical Trials, the next step in Personalized Medicine. Jack has participated in five Clinical Trials and is currently in a state of progression free survival - holding steady.
He has become a patient advocate and event speaker encouraging patients, caregivers and the medical community to get better educated about the novel biologic agents emerging; these Clinical Trials pose some risk, but because they are targeting at the molecular level, they may be safer and more effective. He cautions, don't die from your cancer treatment or side effects.
His is an engaging, fun, thoughtful and exciting discussion that gives encouragement and hope to patients and caregivers and gives a unique e-Patient perspective to medical and biopharmaceutical professionals.
