Horizontal transport as a source of disequilibrium chemistry on the nightside of a hot exoplanet
Abstract Hot Jupiters have temperature gradients of several hundreds of degrees between their permanent daysides and nightsides. Such a strong gradient creates winds with speeds of the order of kilometres per second, which advect chemical species over the whole planet.
A Stellar magnesium to silicon ratio in the atmosphere of an exoplanet - Nature Communications
|
Abstract The elemental compositions of exoplanets encode information about their formation environments and internal structures. While volatile ratios such as carbon-to-oxygen (C/O) are used to trace formation location, the rock-forming elements–magnesium (Mg), silicon (Si), and iron (Fe)–govern interior mineralogy and are commonly assumed to reflect the host star’s abundances. Yet this assumption remains largely untested.

Earth-sized planet spotted around a nearby small star - Nature Astronomy
Most data for extrasolar rocky planets comes from observations of objects significantly larger than the Earth. The newly discovered SPECULOOS-3 b is a good target for efforts to characterize exoplanets closer in size to the solar system terrestrial planets.
High atmospheric metal enrichment for a Saturn-mass planet - Nature
Abstract Atmospheric metal enrichment (i.e., elements heavier than helium, also called “metallicity”) is a key diagnostic of the formation of giant planets1-3. The giant planets of the solar system exhibit an inverse relationship between mass and both their bulk metallicities and atmospheric metallicities. Extrasolar giant planets also display an inverse relationship between mass and bulk metallicity4.
