Jacob Shames’s Biography

Young sports journalist with experience in reporting, editing, photography and the occasional page design. Currently serve as the sports editor at the Crookston Times in Minnesota, where I am essentially a one-man sports department covering area high school sports and college sports at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Also contribute to Maize N Brew, affiliated with SBNation, covering Michigan sports and recruiting. Have freelanced for outlets including the Detroit Free Press, Baltimore Sun and Softball America. 2019 graduate of the University of Michigan, where I was a sports editor for The Michigan Daily and covered Michigan men's basketball, hockey and baseball.
