What was your first job as a journalist?

I began my journalism career as a reporter for my school newspaper. The following year, I was named editor-in-chief.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

I learned to type on a typewriter. Yes, I'm that old.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Probably Henry Hackett from "The Paper."

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Due to the hours I work, I prefer to receive pitches in e-mail.

What's your favorite social network?

I use Twitter to monitor breaking news and follow people I admire. I use Facebook to share news with friends/family/readers.
