Why did you become a journalist?
I felt there was a need for better science communication in the area of stem cells, without the hype.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes. I wrote fiction and essays.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The story in which I covered how a prominent Japanese newspaper promoted a fraudulent stem cell research story, then retracted it.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be extremely conscientious when it comes to facts, do not plagiarize and always double check facts.
