Republicans need to adapt or die
Donald Trump pulls absolutely insane move at golf tournament Former president Donald Trump claimed victory in the seniors’ golf championship at his property in West Palm Beach, Florida, over the weekend. “A great honor,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday. “Competed against many fine golfers, and was hitting the ball long and straight. The reason that I announce this on fabulous TRUTH is Read more...
Republicans need to adapt or die
The underwhelming Republican ripple (almost totally due to reapportionment) that took place on Nov. 8 raises the question as to whether the GOP really has any chance of taking back the White House in 2024 or whether the fix is already in.
Waste in health care system demands reform
$935 billion is a huge amount of money. Taking it in perspective, it is much more than the United States spends every year on the military. It is about as much as the entire federal government spent in Ronald Reagan’s fifth year in office, 1985. Yet, according to a recent study by William Shrank, Teresa Rogstad and Natasha Parekh, that’s the upper end of the range of waste estimated in the American health care system.
It's time to rein in the public employee unions
A recent report in Forbes again brings the American taxpayer’s attention to another gigantic fiscal emergency-in-waiting: the unfunded liabilities of state and local governments due to the unfunded pension liabilities of the public employee unions. According to former California Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, these unfunded liabilities now exceed $5.2 trillion, more than the size of the entire federal budget. In California, this unfunded liability amounts to more than $86,000 per household.
Time for genuine tax reform
America’s tax system is a mess. It’s a hodgepodge of thousands of arcane rules, regulations and laws that are constantly changing according to the whims of whichever group of politicians is in charge in Washington, D.C., on any given day. Taxes are cut, taxes are raised, new taxes are introduced, old ones are repealed, but the middle class continues to get squeezed while many giant corporations able to navigate the loopholes and special interest tax breaks wind up paying no tax at all.
Government action can’t save the economy
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the federal government in conjunction with the nation’s privately-owned central bank – the Federal Reserve System – has flooded our economy with trillions of dollars in new liquidity to cushion the American people from the fallout from the completely unnecessary economic lockdown.
Covid Facts, Not Fear, Should Drive California Reopening
In spite of this testing increase, the number of documented new infections nationwide has remained flat. The media is trumpeting recent geographic increases in documented Covid-19 cases to implicitly or explicitly shame states that are reopening their societies. “Record spike in new coronavirus cases reported in six U.S. states as reopening accelerates,” reads a recent Reuters headline. Inexplicably, many of these scare stories make no mention of the corresponding vast increases in Covid-19 tests.
EDITORIAL: TRUMP - Existential Threat to New World Order
EDITORIAL - The ongoing attacks by the political establishment on President Donald Trump –which began even before he was elected – are without parallel in history. The savagery, frenzy, and outright hysteria displayed by the President’s enemies within the Democrat Party, the media, and the various power centers of the globalist elites have no prior precedent.

The Cultural Marxist attack on Western society
ANALYSIS/OPINION: Have you ever heard of Antonio Gramsci? How about Herbert Marcuse? Or the Frankfurt School? These names are probably meaningless to all but a small minority of scholars academics and political theorists throughout the world. Yet, Americans — and indeed all those who treasure the religion, culture and history of Western Civilization — should become acquainted with these names if they are to understand the forces that are currently tearing society apart.
Immigration and the greater survival of the nation-state
As the crisis on America’s southern border intensifies and worsens, it is highly appropriate to revisit the issue of immigration, both legal and illegal. This is a controversial topic and the socialist Democrat Party and its megaphones in the mainstream media wish to silence any rational discussion of this subject with a single pejorative: “racist.” Yet, immigration is an issue that is inevitably linked to the greater issues of national sovereignty and national identity.

Universal Catastrophic Coverage: Will it work?
The recent decision by Texas federal judge Reed O’Connor striking down the so-called “Affordable Care Act” (aka “Obamacare”) offers Washington policymakers of both parties a unique opportunity to revisit the entire health care debate and craft a new plan that will actually improve people’s lives while controlling costs. We should look back several decades for a possible solution.
Guest Editorial: Taming Big Pharma - Mission Times Courier
Millions of people were outraged in 2015 when Turing Pharmaceuticals raised the price of a 62-year-old drug considered the gold standard in the treatment of a life-threatening parasitic infection from $13.50 to $750 overnight — a 5,000-plus percent increase. Likewise, the cost of the drug cycloserine, used to treat multidrug resistant tuberculosis, jumped from $500 for 30 pills to $10,800 after its acquisition by Rodelis Therapeutics.

Regulations strangling medical profession
When I chose to commit over a decade of my life and incur hundreds of thousands of dollars of medical school debt to achieve my lifelong dream of becoming a doctor, I believed that my training and studies would permit me to heal the sick and save lives. I still want to believe that. However, as any physician today can confirm, much of my time is now occupied with complying with rules, regulations and red tape imposed by government bureaucrats.
