Taotaomo'na: The spirits that shape us
In a recent conversation with friends and family, we discussed taotaomo'na, a concept deeply rooted in Guam’s CHamoru culture. It began with a lighthearted comment about my running speed, which I've always attributed to dashing through the jungle from Agana Heights church to my home as a child, driven by fear of the dark and the Taotaomo'na. It did not help that the White Lady’s Bridge was nearby.

Medical Mystery: What caused man’s shortness of breath after a day with his kids?
A man in his 30s came to the emergency department complaining of shortness of breath, especially with exertion. He was very concerned because his breathing problems had become worse over the course of a week, to the point where he could not walk up a set of stairs or a short distance without becoming extremely winded. The man was healthy and his career as a landscaper required him to be physically active. He didn’t have any prior medical history that was alarming to his medical team.
Medical Mystery: Why was yellow discharge draining from man’s belly button?
The scan revealed an urachal remnant, a string of tissue that tethered the young man's bladder to his belly button. He had retained a structure called the urachus from gestation. The urachus is a channel that connects a fetus' bladder to its belly button. During the first trimester of pregnancy, the channel drains the developing baby's urine. The passage usually seals off around the 12th week of gestation and typically disintegrates at birth. The condition presents more often in men than women.
Say Cheese: a snapshot of the massive DDoS attacks coming from IoT cameras
Over the last few weeks we've seen DDoS attacks hitting our systems that show that attackers have switched to new, large methods of bringing down web applications. They appear to come from an IoT botnet (like Mirai and relations) which were responsible for the large attacks against Brian Krebs. Our automatic DDoS mitigation systems have been handling these attacks, but we thought it would be interesting to publish some of the details of what we are seeing.

And winning that district championship is something Tellez said he will not forget, and also shows how his hard work and dedication is paying off.
Carroll girls claim Silver Division soccer crown
The Carroll girls soccer team entered day two of the 2016 Gulf Coast Classic with one thing on its mind – just win. Behind a stellar defensive effort to go along with free-kick goals the Tigers did just that, defeating Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest 3-0 at the Carroll pitch Saturday afternoon to earn first place in the Silver Division. Right defenseman and all-tournament pick Meghan Mandel had two goals to lead the Tigers, both coming on free-kick opportunities.
