Juan Thornhill Heads to Cleveland
By James Jefferson According to NFL Network inside Tom Pelissero, former Kansas City Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill is headed to the Cleveland Browns. The deal is reportedly for three years and $21 million with $14 million fully guaranteed. Thornhill accumulated 234 tackles, one sack, and eight interceptions in four seasons with the Chiefs. The loss of Thornhill is hardly a surprise. The Chiefs drafted Cincinnati Safety, Bryan Cook a year ago in the second round.
Juju-Smith Schuster Is a Patriot
By James Jefferson The Kansas City Chiefs will have to revamp their wide receiver room this off-season. According to NFL Network's Taylor Biscotti and Ian Rapoport, Juju Smith-Schuster has agreed to a three-year, $33 million deal with the New England Patriots. Smith-Schuster had one season with the Chiefs and it was productive. He had 78 receptions for 933 yards and three touchdowns in the regular season.
Chiefs Eye Star Offensive Lineman
By James Jefferson Could more offensive line help be on the way for the Kansas City Chiefs? According to a report by Aaron Wilson, the Houston Texans are looking to trade star offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and the Kansas City Chiefs are a potential suitor for him. Tunsil signed a three-year, $66 million contract in the 2020 offseason with the Texans.
Another Historic Moment In The Super Bowl Era – Chiefs Focus
For over a century, the NFL has had a lot of historic firsts, particularly in the Super Bowl era. The first African American quarterback to appear in a Super Bowl and win was Washington quarterback Doug Williams in 1987. In Super Bowl 22 against the Denver Broncos, Williams had a masterful performance throwing for 340 yards (228 in the second quarter alone) and four touchdowns. He would win Super Bowl MVP.
Week 7 Takeaways: Packers-Commanders
Here we go again. Another game that ended with the same story for the Green Bay Packers: a strong start followed by a stalled-out finish. Then to top it off, a defense that can’t stop a nosebleed. The Packers might have officially hit rock bottom after an embarrassing 23-21 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday afternoon. This week’s takeaways for the Packers are anything but good, except for one.
Houston Rockets vs. Milwaukee Bucks Takeaways
The Bucks had their home opener on Saturday night against the Houston Rockets. In the first game of a six game home stand, the hometown crowd was treated to an offensive clinic as the Bucks won easily, 125-105 . There was plenty to take away from the game. Where to begin? Takeaway Number One: First Quarter Was Impeccable The Bucks came out with a clear intention to bury the Rockets early, and they did just that in the first quarter. In the quarter, the Bucks got off to a 13-0 run to start the game.
Milwaukee Bucks Vs Philadelphia 76ers Takeaways
The season opener for the Milwaukee Bucks was on Thursday night against the Philadelphia 76ers. Looking to re-claim their throne as the best team in the Eastern Conference, they fought tooth and nail for the win in Philadelphia 90-88. Here are the biggest takeaways from Thursday night’s season opener. Takeaway Number One: Giannis Antetokounmpo Is Still ‘That Dude’ The Greek Freak got off to a hot start in the first quarter and rode his momentum the rest of the way.
Is This Finally The Year Green Bay's Front Office Makes A Move?
Unfortunately, if the Green Bay Packers were to find a way to improve their wide receiver group in a hurry, one of their biggest targets via free agency will not be available in time. Many NFL executives believe that Odell Beckham Jr’s return from knee surgery will more realistically be in December instead of November. Beckham’s ACL Injury The veteran receiver has endured two ACL tears within the last two years, the most recent coming from last year’s Super Bowl in February.
Is This Rock Bottom for the Green Bay Packers?
Disgusting. Embarrassing. Lack of effort and urgency. Frustrating. Those are some of the words I’ll use to describe the Packers performance on Sunday AT HOME against the New York Jets. This week’s takeaways are anything but positive. Buckle your seatbelt… Takeaway Number One: New Week, No Offensive Improvement Coming off a game where the offense was on fire in the first half against the Giants but then collapsed, it carried over against the Jets at Lambeau and it was a lot of the same issues.
Khris Middleton Return From Wrist Surgery Unknown
There was less than encouraging news regarding an update on Milwaukee Bucks star forward Khris Middleton. He underwent left wrist surgery in July and his timetable for a return is unknown. He is a crucial piece to their roster so the team can ill-afford to lose him for an extended period but it appears that might be the case. Wrist Injury Worse Than Originally Thought On the Bucks Media Day, Middleton said he suffered the injury after the all-star break and just played through it.
Christian Watson Injury Not Considered Long Term
Packers receiver Christian Watson suffered a right hamstring injury in Sunday’s game against the Giants. However, Packers head coach Matt Lafluer says he has no long term concerns about it. Watson was held out of practice on Wednesday as a precaution. Possible Overcompensation? Earlier this summer, the Packers rookie missed Organized Team Activities and all of training camp while recovering from ACL surgery on his left knee.
Aaron Rodgers Gives Three Major Thoughts on Pat McAfee Show
In his weekly appearance on Pat Mcafee’s show, Aaron Rodgers had a lot of thoughts about the Packers’ trip to London including the game and how the team is moving forward after a tough loss. Aaron Rodgers Says Margin of Error is Small First and foremost, he talked about the love he had for the fans. As far as the game goes, it was a different story. “We had some opportunities to score late. Our margin of error is tiny”.
Three Takeaways From Giants- Packers
This week in London was not the most ideal. A strong start by the Packers, but then a collapse for the ages. The Packers played the New York Giants in London on Sunday and the international fans got a treat. At least, the Giants fans did. Here are my takeaways from Sunday’s game. Takeaway Number One: The Packers Offense is Broken First and foremost, the Packers offense failed to score over 21 points for the fourth time this season. The offense came out guns blazing scoring 20 points in the first half.
Week Four Green Bay Packers Injury Updates
The Packers might be closer to getting key pieces of their team back for the game in London on Sunday. Among the players on the injury report: right tackle Elgton Jenkins, safety Adrian Amos and cornerback Jaire Alexander. These three key players, especially Adrian Amos were sorely missed last Sunday against the New England Patriots, but it’s a new week. The full iPackers injury report is listed here and will be updated later today.
Aaron Rodgers Reveals What Might Make Him Play Longer
Aaron Rodgers has been with the Packers for 17 seasons, being the starting quarterback since 2008. He recently signed a three year contract extension over the summer. The question is, how much longer will fans see him play in a Packers uniform? With the new offensive pieces in rookie wide receiver Christian Watson and rookie receiver Romeo Doubs, Rodgers might find motivation in sticking with Green Bay for the long haul.
Could Lambeau Field Change Its Name?
For 57 years, Lambeau Field has been the Green Bay Packers stadium name. But could a name change be in store? Rodgers Thoughts In his weekly appearance on the Pat Mcafee Show, Aaron Rodgers was asked how he would feel about a potential name change. “I don’t want it to happen”. “The league is about dollars”. Rodgers is correct in that regard. He mentioned how the NBA and English Premier League use sponsor logos on their jerseys to make money.
Three Reasons Packers Coaching Staff Needs to Adjust
Through the first four weeks of the season, the Packers have been able to find ways to win games going 3-1. However, there have been many bumps along the road with execution from players and the coaching staff. Defense Needs to Stop the Run For starters, defensive coordinator Joe Barry needs to create more plays that stop teams from running the football. The Packers defense currently ranks fifth in pass defense, but last in the NFL (32nd) in run defense.
Week 4 Takeaways: Patriots-Packers
The Packers pulled off a 27-24 overtime win against the New England Patriots on Sunday. Don’t let the final score fool you. There was some good to takeaway but also a lot of concerns. Takeaway Number One: The offense is… a work in progress The Packers offense seemed like it was sleepwalking in the first half. The only bright spot was rookie Christian Watson scoring his first NFL touchdown.
Former Packers Linebacker Retires Original
“My playing days are over”. While he hasn’t made it official yet, former Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews will retire after a ten year career. Matthews played for nine seasons in a Packers uniform and is the franchise’s all time leader in sacks with 84.5. He was the catalyst to the Packers number two ranked defense in 2010, the last time the Packers won the Super Bowl.
Week Three Takeaways: Packers-Bucs
Takeaway 1: Packers Offense put on a CLINIC in the first half against the Bucs. Aaron Rodgers was 15 for 18 for 171 yards and two passing touchdowns. One was to rookie Romeo Doubs to give the Packers a 7-3 lead. https://twitter.com/packers/status/1574137791147085831?s=46&t=6X1gxgu4cgdOUslmdXaEaA The second touchdown was to Allen Lazard.
Bucs Sign Cole Beasley
A Surprising Signing With a depleted receiver group in Tampa Bay, the Bucs have signed wide receiver Cole Beasley to the active roster for Sunday afternoon’s game against the Packers. He was signed to their practice squad on Tuesday but now is officially on the active roster. Bucs Availability Issues Mike Evans was suspended for Sunday’s game. Chris Godwin is out with a hamstring injury and Russell Gage is questionable with a hamstring injury as well.
Bears-Packers: Week 2 Takeaways Original
The bright lights of “Sunday Night Football” brought the best out in Greenbay. There was a lot of good to take away from the Packers’ win over the Chicago Bears. Bears-Packers Takeaway No. 1: Aaron Jones is a STUD The first and biggest takeaway for fans is that Packers running back Aaron Jones is a stud and certainly makes an argument to be the best running back in the NFL.
Packers Legends Gather for Football and Fun at Stadium View Prior to Bears Game Original
On Sunday afternoon at Stadium View Bar, there were several former legendary Packers players who gathered at a pregame tailgate. Among the players who were in attendance included former wide receiver Andre Rison, former right guard from the 1960’s dynasty Jerry Kramer and running back Ahman Green who is the franchise’s all time leading rusher.Having had the chance to talk with these legendary figures, they had a lot of great memories and thoughts to share.
Aaron Rodgers (Figuratively) Owns the Bears
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is 23-5 in his career against the Chicago Bears. That record includes a victory in the 2010 NFC Championship game at Soldier Field. He has had his fair share of fun moments against them, throwing 61 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions in regular season games. There are so many moments to choose from but I chose the three biggest moments in terms of circumstance and significance. 1.
Week 1: Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings Takeaways
On Sunday afternoon, the Packers faced off against against their NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings. There was not a lot of good to take away from this game. The Packers fell short losing 23-7. Takeaway Number 1: Young Receivers Let Inexperience Show The number one takeaway is that the Packers receiving group is inexperienced. Their most experienced wide receiver is Allen Lazard. He missed Sunday’s game due to a foot injury.
Who Could be Saying Goodbye to Green Bay Soon?
As the 2022 season begins, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Green Bay Packers. Everything from what the offense will look like, to who may or may not return to the team in 2023. It is no doubt a tough pill to swallow. 1. Aaron Jones For starters, running back Aaron Jones who signed a four year, $48 million contract in 2021 had to restructure his contract in order to help the Packers clear up salary cap space for this year.
Packers Add Kicker to Practice Squad
It was announced on Saturday morning that the Green Bay Packers made an addition to their practice squad, specifically at the kicker position. They signed Ramiz Ahmed as a necessary addition should anything happen to Mason Crosby. Crosby is coming off the second worst year in field goal kicking only converting 73% of his field goal attempts a year ago.
Who Should be the Next Packers Hall of Fame Inductee?
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame is full of many prestigious names: Vince Lombardi, Bart Starr and Brett Favre to name a few. With wide receiver Greg Jennings being the newest member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame on August 30th, the question is: who else should be in? 1. Jordy Nelson First off, Jordy Nelson makes a great case to be a Packers Hall of Fame inductee in the very near future. The former receiver who played for nine seasons in Green Bay had one hell of a career.
Five Most Important Packers Players in 2022
For the Green Bay Packers, it will truly be a team effort in 2022 to win. But these are the five important players that fans should keep their eye on this year. 5. Eric Stokes Eric Stokes ranks fifth on the list of most important players. The Packers defense finished top ten last season. A large reason was for the vast improvement in the secondary led by cornerback Eric Stokes. He played all 16 games and started 14.
Brewer fans react to questionable decision as Brewers lose again to Cubs
On a night when the Brewers offense could not get anything going, Milwaukee Brewers starter Freddy Peralta was on his A game. He had a no hitter going against the Chicago Cubs through six dominant innings. His final stat line was impressive to say the least: six innings, no hits allowed five strikeouts and one walk on 82 pitches. However, Peralta was replaced by reliever Matt Bush when the seventh inning began. That decision was controversial to say the least. But first, the good.
Health vs Rust. Is it worth playing starters in preseason?
Even though Packers rookie receiver Christian Watson was suited up for the Packers last preseason game, he did not play. He or none of the Packers starters played in preseason. To be fair to Watson, he is coming off knee surgery from earlier in the off-season. Fans were surprised to say the very least. With the NFL reducing their amount of pre-season games from four to three, it forces coaches to make a difficult decision between healthy players vs players having rust. Rookies are no exception.
Brewers Pitching Disappoints and Disappears against Dodgers
It was a rough night and ending to the road trip for the Milwaukee Brewers in Los Angeles. To put it simply: the pitching was HORRENDOUS during the six game road trip against the Chicago Cubs and especially against the LA Dodgers. On Wednesday night, there were very few bright moments. Top of the First Inning was nice… but that’s all Facing off against Dodgers starter Alex Heaney, the brewers could not have gotten off to a better start.
Keston Hiura's Hot Bat Helps Brewers Avoid Sweep
Thanks to Keston Hiura’s hot bat, the Milwaukee Brewers came away victorious on Sunday afternoon 5-2 and were able to avoid being swept by the Chicago Cubs. The beginning of the game was quite a struggle for the Brewers as starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff gave up a solo home run to Cubs outfielder Ian Happ and labored through the first inning throwing 36 total pitches. That was followed by another solo home run hit in the fourth inning by Seiya Suzuki.
Brewers Bullpen Blows another game in Bitter Defeat
While it certainly was not the 8-7 slugfest which came in a losing effort against the Chicago Cubs on Friday, Saturday was too familiar a pattern for the Milwaukee Brewers: very little run production, very few hits, and a bad bullpen… Peralta’s Strong Start First and foremost, the good part of the day: Freddy Peralta.
Packers Biggest Breakout Players in 2022
For a team with one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and a top ten defense, questions remain as to who will be among the breakout players for the Green Bay Packers this season, specifically offensively. With the trade of Davante Adams this offseason, the offense is clearly the biggest question mark. There are some bright spots with running back Aaron Jones and tight end Robert Tonyan. However, Tonyan is coming off a torn ACL. Who will step up and be breakout players? I have some ideas.
Two Training Camp Standouts Boost Green Bay Packers Defense
For the Green Bay Packers, this is the dawn of a new era. Gone are the days of 30 point games offensively and big chunk plays featuring Davante Adams. The offense now runs through Aaron Jones and a cast of unknown characters at wide receiver. However, when it comes to the Green Bay Packers defense, it is hard to find many flaws. It is talented at seemingly every position.

Well, fast forward seven months, that’s what the NBA Finals are this year.
