A game of two halves: were Tottenham Hotspur right to sack Ange Postecoglou?
By Dylan McLaren and James Jones YES – Dylan McLaren (Deputy Sport Editor) I should preface this piece by saying that I am a Manchester United fan, which is important for two reasons. Firstly, it is important to clarify I am not bitter about Spurs beating us in the Europa League final. That is not why they were right to sack Ange Postecoglou. They were right to sack him for a second reason which United fans have lived. You should not back a manager you are unsure of.

By James Jones Every year, the month of May marks the beginning of the Grand Tour stretch of the cycling season. Friedrich Merz set to be Chancellor as CDU/CSU win majority
By James Jones The result of the German federal election had been a foregone conclusion for almost the entire duration of the last Bundestag. The CDU/CSU alliance had been projected to win a plurality of the popular vote, and thus the most seats, for an uninterrupted period beginning in mid-2022. Olaf Scholz’ governing Social Democratic Party (SPD) was totally incapable of arresting its decline, despite having the levers of power and thus, theoretically, control of the narrative.

Have Red Bull made another wrong call?
By James Jones Since Daniel Ricciardo’s departure from Red Bull at the end of the 2018 Formula 1 season, the team’s 2nd seat alongside World Champion Max Verstappen has made a mockery out of some of the sport’s most talented drivers. Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon and now Sergio Perez have all tried and failed to get a grip of the notoriously difficult car.
What's going on with Liverpool's contracts?
By James Jones The mood at Anfield amidst Arne Slot’s charge toward the Premier League trophy has been nothing short of euphoric. Except for one thing: anxiety surrounding the soon to expire contracts of their 3 best-performing, and highest paid, players. As of January 1st, Mohammad Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil Van Dijk are all free to sign pre-contract agreements with other clubs. At the end of the season, they can leave without Liverpool seeing a penny for them.

Player Profile: Raheem Sterling
Liverpool are reportedly ‘confident’ that Trent Alexander-Arnold ‘will’ sign a new contract with the club despite ‘active interest’ from Real Madrid and Barcelona. The Reds have started the Premier League season in fine form. Indeed, after five games, they’re third in the table – level on points with the sides one place above and below them – having won four out of five games and drawn the other. The good start to this campaign is in contrast to last season, when they were largely poor.
