Listen intently
“My brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” James 1:19-20. First, in following this Holy Scripture, we must learn to listen intently, listening intently is not thinking of what we want to say, but listening intently to the person speaking. Jesus said, “Whoever has ears, let them hear.” Matthew 11:15.
Called to be holy
Our Heavenly Father calls us to be holy! “I am the Lord your God, consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy.” Leviticus 11:44. “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which was yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves in all your behavior; for it is written you shall be holy for I am Holy.” First Peter 1:14-16.
'If you love me'
Sometimes good loving parents, who have lived life, say to their children, “if you love me” you will do what I say! Good loving parents seek the safety and best interest for their children. Children, who love and honor their parents, receive blessings and good consequences, for their lives.
God’s love and presence is it conditional
Jesus said, “Whoever has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and disclose Myself to them.” Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?” Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching. My Father will love them, and We will come to them and make Our home with them.” John 14:21-23.
What shall we do?
Peter said to Jesus, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. “And I say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of hades will not overpower it.

Living in and for Christ Jesus
The Apostle Paul said, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, the life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20. Paul is saying, he has followed Jesus’ teachings. For, Jesus said to His disciples, “whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me, for whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will find it.” Matthew 16:24-25.
True Worship | Community | hometownregister.com
Most churches have a one-hour worship service once a week. Some have a “call to worship” some sing “we have come here to worship.” God’s Holy Word does call the church to meet together for this reason, “Let us consider how to spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25.
Jesus Conquerors
Christians, followers of Jesus who live in Jesus and Jesus lives in them are more than conquerors. We each face many trials and tribulations in our life that is without question, the question is how will we handle them? Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33. “For everyone born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world?
The King is coming
Jesus, the “Lord of Lords and King of Kings “is building his kingdom from this temporary earth. All who open their hearts, souls and bodies to Jesus as their King, Jesus’ spiritual presence enters into their lives as Lord of their lives. Jesus the king of their lives becomes the lover and guardian of their hearts, minds, souls and bodies leading them into a more abundant, complete and eternal life.
Crisis in America
Martin Luther King said, “He looked forward to the day when people are judged by their character and not by the color of their skin, and walking together hand in hand.” How disappointed he would be in seeing today’s politicians promoting racism and division in America, rather than walking hand in hand in unity for a greater America.
A sin-free Life - part 2
Jesus said, “If you hold to My teaching, you are really My disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” “So if the Son sets you free you will be free indeed.” John 8:31, 32, 36. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2.
God's divine purpose for our life
One Sunday morning I heard the preacher say that we need to find our purpose in life. Leaving Church I mentioned to the preacher, that I found God’s divine purpose for each of our lives is in Romans 8:29. “For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” “For He (God) chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless in His sight.
God's love for each of us
Scene 3 — We see Jesus upon the cross of Calvary Matthew 27:32:54; Mark 15:21-39; Luke 23:26-49; John 19:17-27; First Peter 2:24 We must look to Calvary, for until we read and envision Calvary and take it in, we will never know the fullness of God’s love, grace, and value, God has placed on each one of us. See Him now, the lonely Jesus as He hangs between heaven and earth, rejected by earth, and forsaken by heaven. The lonely Savior bears the agonizing pain of the cross all alone.
God's love for each of us
Scene Two — we see Jesus, God’s Son on the road to Calvary. Revelations chapter 4 & 5 Again, in this second scene, we see Jesus, God’s Son, traveling the road to Calvary to release us from the power of Satan and his dominion of darkness; we see the greatness of God’s love and value He has placed on each one of us.We see Jesus carrying across His bloody lashed back the old wooden cross. His face is hardly recognizable, for they have beaten the Son of God.

God’s permissive will
God’s definite and ultimate will for our lives, we can easily understand through the Holy Scriptures. However, God’s permissive will is difficult to understand. God’s permissive will at times shakes our faith in God, when we see and experience terrible, wicked, heartbreaking happenings around us and within us, which God allows.
Jesus’ Disciples Identity - part-9
Jesus’ disciples offer their bodies unto their Lord as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, this is their true and proper worship. They no longer conform to the pattern of this world. They are transformed by the renewing of their minds that they might be able to test and approve what God’s will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will, for our lives. Taken from Romans 12:1-2 Can we as disciples of Jesus attain this higher calling, to be holy and pleasing to God?
Jesus’ Disciples Identity - part-8
Jesus’ disciples are identified by not being self-serving, self-glorifying nor self-promoting. Jesus’ disciples serve and glorify Jesus, their Lord and Great Shepherd. They serve glorify and promote a risen Savior, Jesus their Lord and all His creation. Jesus’ disciples are not self-glorifying they give all the glory and honor to their Lord and creator.
Jesus’ Disciples Identity - Part 6
Jesus’ disciples rejoice in Jesus, pray in all situations of life, and follow God’s words of life. In following God’s word, they, “Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again; Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7.

Jesus’ Disciples Identity-part 5
The morning sun lights up our day and provides warmth, but when covered by a cloud our day is not as bright and warm. Jesus told His disciples, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5; 14-16.
Jesus’ Disciples Identity
Jesus followers, follow Jesus by walking in the footsteps of Jesus, being conformed to the very image of Jesus their Lord and Great Shepherd. They do this to carry out our Heavenly Father’s divine purpose for our lives.
Jesus’ Disciples Identity - part 3
Jesus’ followers, follow all of Jesus’ teaching including, “In everything do to others what you would have them do to you.” (Matthew 7:12). Jesus’ golden rule seems easy to do, for we know how we like others to treat us. Therefore, we treat each other with love and kindness and with words of encouragement. Therefore, Jesus’ rule should be no problem to follow.
Jesus’ disciples identity
Jesus disciples follow Jesus’ new command. Jesus our Great Shepherd said, “A new command I give you; love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” (John 13:34). By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34). The songwriter penned, “You will know them by their love.” Before Jesus gave His new command, He showed forth His love and service, for His disciples, by washing their feet.
Jesus’ Disciples Identity
Jesus’ followers glorify our Lord by following Jesus’ commands and teachings. Jesus greatest command to His followers is, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” The second is this: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:28-29).
Jesus is the Truth
We find the following conversation recorded between Jesus and Pilate in John 18:37-38. Jesus said to Pilate, “The reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth.
Clothing ourselves daily in Christ
What must we do to fulfill this scriptural direction for our lives, “cloth yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 13:14. First, we identify with Jesus Christ what has taken place inwardly within our hearts through Christian baptism. “For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” Galatians 3:17.
Jesus Renews Hearts
Oliver Wendell Holmes stated, “What lies before us, or after us, has little importance compared to what lies within us.” We cannot always choose and control our past and future events and circumstances in our lives. However, we can choose what lives in our hearts. The words we choose, the actions we Take that flows from us are but a mere overflow of what lies within our hearts and minds.
Jesus’ great calling
“Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in me and I in them.” — John 6:56 Jesus insisted that His very life be absorbed and assimilated. To be a disciple of other teachers it is only necessary that we accept and follow their doctrine. But to be a disciple of Christ is to do more than this. His divinity permits us to have a spiritual communion and fellowship with Him, an abiding in His presence, an indwelling of His Spirit and a veritable assimilation of life from Him.
Jesus’ love and sacrifice
As is our Heavenly Father’s love and sacrifice, is Jesus’ love and sacrifice that reaches beyond any measure and comprehension. Jesus and our Heavenly Father are one in spirit, love and sacrifice, for our salvation. Jesus became flesh to walk amongst us to teach us to love God with all our heart, with all our mind, with all our soul and with all our strength and to show us how. In addition, Jesus came to teach and show us how to love each other as He has loved us.
Jesus great Commission
Jesus said to His disciples, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I Am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20. What Jesus said has been termed by man as His great commission.
Listen to Jesus
Part 3 Herein lies but a few reasons that we give obedient listening to Jesus, fully submitting our lives unto Jesus as Savior and Lord of our lives, the guardian of our souls, hearts, minds and bodies. Jesus’ Great Invitation “Come to Me, all you who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” — Matthew 11:28-39.
Listen to Jesus—part two
Jesus was asked, “Which is the first and greatest command? Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30. This command is the greatest and first, because it is the foundation of the entire law of God. Jesus’ greatest command of God forbids all sin, which includes sin against each other, for we each are God’s creation, the objects of God’s love.

Falling In Love Supreme: The Genius Of Monk
Somewhere around 1955, when I was twelve, I lived in Burbank, California. I had a young cousin who had a small part in a Tony Curtis movie, and each day my mother would drive her to the set in nearby Hollywood for her scenes. One day, between takes, Tony Curtis invited my mother and cousin to his dressing room to chat. As they entered the room the most incredible jazz was playing from their host’s turntable.
