no but I ran a college political newspaper :)
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Ignore the old folks talking about fair and balanced. Seize a point of view and embrace it but don't hide and pretend you aren't partisan.
When's the best time to pitch you?
any time by email, never by phone unless I already have a good relationship with you / your client and even then I send stuff to voice mail
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Samual Hubbard Shoe Company - pitch began with saying that they wanted to send shoes and explained exactly who they were and why I write
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
"Health" pitches regularly about "help for your vagina!" or "new alternative tampons!" - I'm a men's site. literally in the sites' name!

Wine - pinot or cab from Oregon or Washington
