AMSOIL CVT Fluid Helps Altima Reach 655,000 Miles Before Total
AMSOIL Preferred Customer Thomas High makes a living as a courier, picking up and delivering medical specimens from approximately 20 laboratories every day throughout the Iowa region. Each week his 2015 Nissan Altima would see anywhere from 430-530 miles a day, at times even reaching 750 miles per day. Most of those were highway miles mixed with multiple stops and stop-and-go traffic through the six cities along his route.
Barbara Burstin: Pittsburgh’s first version of Doug Mastriano
This article is one of a series of opinion pieces the Post-Gazette will be running until the election, addressing the issues at stake from a diversity of views. Doug Mastriano is a man who believes that his Christian faith should be the touchstone and guiding light of his politics … and ours, too. His ascent to high office could spell the end of any number of fundamental rights we take for granted.
Against white Christian nationalism
I, along with dozens of my fellow religious leaders throughout the Pittsburgh area, strongly oppose the movement known as “white Christian nationalism” and all those who advocate for it. The principles of this movement are antithetical to our own religious faiths and our role as citizens under the U.S. Constitution. It claims that our country was explicitly founded as a Christian nation.
Miriam’s death: A tragedy in only five words?
Parshat Chukkat is one of the most wrenching in the entire Torah. After describing the purification rite through the ashes of the Red Heifer, we’re hit with three successive tragedies: Miriam dies; Moses is banned from the Promised Land for disobeying God’s direct order; then, Aaron dies, too. The storytelling is intense, emotional and rich in detail. Except we are given virtually nothing regarding the death of Miriam.
Maps We Love
A map can change the world. And so can you. With the right resources, you too can create beautiful, powerful maps like these that we love. Why We Love It Morbid as its theme may be, this map makes great use of hexagonal binning and chromastereoscopic color — which means it can be viewed holographically in 3D if you’re wearing special glasses. Dramatic, rich colors remind us of the power and beauty of the Grand Canyon.
Make America good again
Although I grew up in an extremely involved political family, I have not been active in any political party or campaign since June 1983. That is the year I was ordained as a rabbi by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, Ohio. After ordination, as I served congregations in Wisconsin and Pittsburgh, I kept faith with a uniquely American bargain: As the congregations I served were tax-exempt, I would refrain from partisan politics.
The great coming together
This week is the great coming together for the Jewish people. Since the second day of Shavuot, the Diaspora Jewish community has been reading one weekly Torah portion while those in Israel read another. As the Diaspora reaches Chukat (which records the death of Miriam, Moses’ sister) this week, Israeli Jews proceed to Balak (the story of Bil’am’s famous talking she-donkey). But here in the Diaspora, Chukat and Balak are combined, while in Israel they are reading Balak, alone.
