What was your first job as a journalist?
Cover a missing person story at a beach. I sat and waited in scorching heat for 5hrs for the police to update the media on the situation.

How is social media changing news?
it creates instant news, multiple avenues and new places to break the news - news when you want it
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be be dogged, open, social, quick on your feet, multi-skilled and never tiring - some of which I am :)

Blackmagic 4k, Premier Pro, Various Lighting Rigs, Wordpress, Tascam Mulit-Channel Recorder, Lav Mics, Google Analytics

I love asking questions and finding answers
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
not at high school but college I was a copy editor for an online magazine.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Hiring our Heroes was a very rewarding piece on US veterans and a very positive and uplifting piece. My feature on Hanksy also rewarding
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Intern as much as possible and build contacts and a portfolio
When's the best time to pitch you?
early morning/mid-afternoon
What's your favorite drink?
I know it's boring but nothing beats water, but if I'm drinking socially I do love a well made cocktail and a nice French oaked Chardonnay
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In the park or at the beach

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That stories fall into your lap, you have to work at finding the good ones
