Daylesford Golf Club History
People often wonder why Hepburn Springs has a golf course rather than Daylesford. The first recorded push to establish golf in Daylesford appeared in May 1900, when an article by “A. Golfer” in the Daylesford Advocate encouraged the town to add golf to its attractions. A meeting was arranged to form a club, but it was poorly attended and adjourned. Golf was probably first played locally around 1910 at Wombat Park, where H.M.S. Cox and his gardeners created several holes.
6 Ways to Find a Video's Original Source. Here's What Actually Works.
Like many people, I used to think finding the original source of a video is simple. If a video goes viral, I assumed a quick search would show who uploaded it first. That belief changed when I came across a video that was shared across multiple social media platforms and websites. Every version looked similar, but none of them clearly showed where the video originally came from. Curious about it, I decided to test six different methods that people often use to find a video source. My goal was simple.
How I Discovered Where My Video Was Being Shared Across the Internet
It started with a notification that I almost ignored. A friend messaged me late one evening, "Hey, isn't this your video?" Attached was a link to a page I had never seen before. I clicked it, and there it was. My video. The one I had filmed myself, edited late at night, and posted on my own page. Except now it was sitting on someone else's account, with their name on it, getting thousands of views. My first reaction was confusion. Then it turned into something closer to frustration.
I Spent Hours Trying to Find the Original Source of a Viral Video
It started with a random video on my feed. The clip had millions of views already, and people in the comments were arguing about whether it was real. Some users claimed the video came from TikTok. Others said it was originally uploaded on Instagram years ago. A few people even believed it was AI-generated. At that point, I got curious. Not because the video itself was shocking, but because nobody seemed to know where it actually came from. So I decided to try finding the original upload myself.

March is Baby Formula Month
Spring is coming and so are baby mammals—and they need milk! Almost half of our annual food budget is devoted to purchasing the specific formula that each orphaned patient needs, be it raccoon, fawn, mink—or any other mammal baby that arrives at our hospital. Each species has different requirements for fat, protein, and carbohydrates. And each is bottle fed for different lengths of time: for raccoons it is 9 to10 weeks, and for fawns it is around 12 weeks.

Fed funding cuts hurt Taos arts and lit
There are over 150 nonprofit organizations in Taos, ranging from those that deliver direct services (food, shelter and clothing) to ones that promote the cultural vibe: dance, music, literature, art, mixed media, filmmaking, theater, pottery, and beyond. The arts are a significant draw for tourists who support our local economy by attending events, visiting museums, cultural sites — all of which elevate the reputation of our town as a desirable destination.
Slow Cooker Cabbage Soup, Jan. 14 edition The Mail
I love soup. I always have. My mom would load me up on cold winter days going to school with a thermos of hot Campbell’s Chicken and Stars Soup. I also love one-pot and slow cooker meals. Soups keep well and freeze well. Enjoy this simple, delicious recipe.
Cooking Column: Fruit salad alternative requires minimal prep
Grab that last taste of summer! Well, technically we all know autumn is upon us. But these are fruits that are easily available year-round in many stores. Watermelon is even cut in slices or chunks, so prep is minimal. This is a healthy, easy alternative to the typical fruit salad. Kids will "probably" even enjoy it. Fruit Salad Ingredients for 2-4 servings (Can be adjusted for just one or 10 people).
Cooking Column: Cornbread makes a comforting addition to any meal
Cornbread is a beloved staple in many Southern kitchens, known for its delightful texture and slightly sweet flavor. This comforting bread is often enjoyed as a side dish with hearty meals, served warm with butter or even crumbled into chili. Here’s a simple and delicious cornbread recipe that you can easily whip up at home.
Cooking Column: Three-Bean Salad is colorful, easy to assemble
As I mentioned a few weeks back, I have been going through my mom's recipe files. My mom grew up during the Great Depression. Beans were a staple. Green beans, great northern beans, pinto beans – you name it. They are hearty and inexpensive. If you're using canned beans, make sure you rinse them. Here is an easy-to-assemble, colorful bean recipe. And you might have some cucumbers left over from that summer garden. Next week I'll post a cornbread recipe. She always served cornbread with her bean dishes.
Cooking Column: Nancy's Creamy Cucumber Salad
How many of you have your mom's recipe book, folder or file stashed away in your kitchen somewhere? How many of you miss your mom's cooking or wish you could duplicate her recipes? The next few weeks I'm going to be sharing some of my mom's recipes. She wasn't a chef (my dad was more the chef), but she could cook up delicious meals and desserts. The first recipe I will share will be her Creamy Cucumber Salad.
Cooking Column: Blueberry Crisp tastes like summer anytime
Summer is coming to an end. Or is it? You can have a taste of summer anytime of the year with this delicious crisp. You can use any type of berry, including strawberries, blackberries or raspberries. You can top the crisp with a dollop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Serve it in your morning yogurt. Top your pancakes with it. This flexible treat is easy to prepare and even picky eaters will enjoy it.
Cooking Column: Easy, flavorful Italiano Salad is easy to transport
This salad is easy to assemble and easy to transport to any potluck or picnic. The flavors meld together, especially once the Italian dressing is added. It's something my family enjoys, and it's very affordable. It's also a colorful feast for the eyes. Italiano Salad Ingredients: 4 cups romaine lettuce 2 pieces of string cheese ½ cup black olives 2 dozen nitrate-free pepperoni pieces 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese Italian dressing to taste Preparation: Chop lettuce into bite-size pieces.
Cooking Column: Crispy cheese crisps are great for the carb-conscious
Mexican food is one of my favorites. If I had to choose my last meal, Mexican food would be at the top of that list. If you want to try something different and are watching your carbs, these crispy cheese crisps are a great option. You can make nachos, tacos or tostadas with them. You can also use freshly grated Parmesan cheese by itself for a tasty snack or for a dipping option other than crackers or chips.
Cooking Column: Blueberry muffins
The first time I made blueberry muffins was while I was living in a 150-year-old log cabin above a hot springs in Northern Colorado. I baked them in a porcelain wood burning stove and getting that stove up to the right temperature took some work! But the smell of the blueberries and a warm cup of coffee are a savored memory. Many times we think it will be easier to just purchase processed muffins at the store.
Cooking Column: Quinoa breakfast bowl
Bowls have become very popular. I even got a hamburger bowl at a popular burger restaurant in Denver last week. Bowls are simply the layering or different ingredients. Kids even like them. This breakfast bowl can be enjoyed any time of day. Quinoa Breakfast Bowl Ingredients: ¼ cup red quinoa ½ cup blackberries ½ cup Greek yogurt (or any flavor) 8-10 plain almonds Handful of sunflower seeds 6-8 fresh mint leaves Prepare quinoa per package instructions. Let it cool.
Cooking Column: Simple cabbage rolls are almost like cabbage lasagna
Cabbage rolls can be a bit time-consuming. If you love cabbage you'll love the simplicity of this recipe. It's almost like a cabbage lasagna with layers of goodness melding together. Cabbage Rolls Ingredients: 1 head of cabbage 1 pound ground beef ½ pound ground or chopped Italian sausage 2 cups spaghetti sauce 2 cups grated mozzarella ½ cup Parmesan cheese Preparation: Steam the cabbage until it's easy to pull apart. Brown ground beef, then brown sausage. Mix sausage and ground beef together.
Cooking Column: Lettuce wraps
I love lettuce wraps! I keep romaine lettuce in stock for a different twist on tacos or sandwich fillings. Here is a crispy chicken lettuce wrap: super easy and can be stored in plastic containers for easy transport. Lettuce Wraps Ingredients: 1 cooked (and crispy) chicken tender or small breast 2-3 romaine lettuce pieces ½ cup grated cheddar cheese Mayo to taste Salt & pepper to taste Cook the chicken in cooking oil until crispy. Cube into bite-size pieces.
Cooking Column: Stuffed mushrooms
Stuffed mushrooms are filling and versatile. You can get super creative with the filling. This mushroom is stuffed with bacon and Gruyère cheese – yummy for any party or side dish. Stuffed Mushrooms Ingredients: 12 medium mushrooms 6-8 pieces of cooked bacon ¾ to 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese Wash mushrooms and pat dry with a paper towel. Crumble bacon and stuff the centers of the mushrooms. Sprinkle cheese liberally over mushrooms.
Cooking Column: Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies
Make yourself a cup of coffee or tea or pour yourself or the kids a glass of milk. These chunky cookies are sure to become a family favorite. The kids can even get in on the recipe action because of how easy this recipe is to put together. Store in an airtight container. They store well and can even be frozen in batches.
Meatloaf melts in your mouth
This is a yummy, melt-in-your-mouth meal that can be assembled in no time at all. You can make a meatloaf for two or six. Makes great meatloaf sandwiches! Melt-in-Your-Mouth Meatloaf Ingredients Ground beef or buffalo (½ pound for this recipe but can be easily doubled) ¼ cup panko bread crumbs ¼ cup spaghetti sauce ½ cup mozzarella cheese Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix ground beef, bread crumbs and spaghetti sauce in a medium-size bowl. Form half the mixture into a loaf in a baking pan.
Cooking Column: Homemade ice pucks
Commercial ice cream can be filled with many preservatives. This recipe has three ingredients. And you can make your own combos, with different fruits, nuts and even sprinkles on top. Ice Cream Pucks Ingredients: 1 cup dark or milk chocolate chips 2 cups whole cream 1½ cups frozen cherries or fresh cherries (pitted) Preparation: Chop up cherries into small pieces. Spray a large muffin tin with cooking spray. Pour whole cream into a bowl and mix in cherries (or other desired fruit).
Cream Cheese Pie: basic but delicious
This could be a cheesecake or cream cheese pie. Top with berries, whipped cream or serve plain. Basic but delicious. Cream Cheese Pie Serves 6-8 Prep time: Approximately 40 minutes FILLING 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened 2 eggs 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 prepared graham cracker crust TOPPING 1 cup sour cream 2 tablespoons sugar ½ teaspoon vanilla PREPARATION Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. For the filling, combine cream cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl.
Cooking Column: Chaffles
Have you heard about Chaffles, the low-carb waffle? These can be made for a bread substitute or with no sugar or regular syrup or a good old-fashioned PB & J. They can be sweet or savory. They are super versatile and yummy. This recipe is for mini-waffle makers, but just triple the ingredients for a regular waffle maker. They can be made ahead and frozen and popped into a toaster oven for convenience. Chaffles Ingredients: 1 egg ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese 1 tablespoon almond flour Mix well.
Cooking Column: Cauliflower with Cheese Sauce
This is a healthy substitute for traditional macaroni and cheese – and perhaps a way to add some vegetables to your family's diet. And a good way to get the dust off the ol’ slow cooker. Cauliflower with Cheese Sauce Ingredients 1 head of cauliflower 2 tablespoons butter 4 ounces cream cheese ¼ cup whole cream Salt & pepper to taste (approximately ½ teaspoon of each) ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack or pepper jack cheese 4 slices of cooked bacon 1. Grease or spray your slow cooker with cooking spray. 2.
Homemade granola
I wanted a good alternative for the granola bars the family eats, and this will do the trick. I measured out 1/8 of a cup and 1/4 of a cup in snack bags for easy, grab-and-go treats.
Cooking Column: Prime Rib Original
Don't be intimidated by cooking a prime rib roast. If you're a meat eater, this makes a wonderful Christmas Day or Christmas Eve dinner. You might need to order your roast early from your favorite store or butcher. Cooking the perfect prime rib involves a few key steps.
Cooking: Figgy Pudding
Anyone remember the old Christmas carol with the line *Bring us some figgy pudding – oh, bring us some figgy pudding*? Here is your introduction to what figgy pudding is. Its origins are said to be from Great Britain, but I'm sure our forefathers from the U.K. brought this Christmas treat across the pond. It's a bit time-consuming but delicious. Here's a traditional recipe for figgy pudding. Add whipped cream or a dollop of ice cream if you want to add to the deliciousness.
Cooking - Cobb salad Original
The invention of the Cobb Salad is generally attributed to Robert Howard Cobb, who co-owned The Brown Derby restaurant in Los Angeles. The year was 1937. The story goes that Cobb created the first Cobb Salad at the end of a long day after realizing he hadn't eaten for a while. Some foods have been a favorite of mine for years. I love layering bowls and plates and mixing up the individual ingredients that meld into a delicious taste, bite after bite. That's how it is for me with Cobb Salads.
Cream of Turkey Soup
Additives and preservatives are rampant in any canned, boxed and many frozen food products. Start shopping for the labels and you'll see what I mean. One of my specialties is easy-to-prepare meals, many with five ingredients or less. For working moms and dads this can make food prep and dinner or lunch much easier. So what to do with that leftover turkey from Thanksgiving? Here is an idea. This recipe serves four but can easily be adjusted to serve more people or fewer.
Homemade cranberry sauce
Did you know making your own cranberry sauce is super easy? And more flavorful than the canned variety. Enjoy this recipe Thanksgiving Day or as a spread on leftovers or turkey sandwiches after the holiday. For additional flavor add: Oranges or orange juice Currants or raisins Diced apples Ingredients: 8-ounce bag of fresh or frozen cranberries 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup 5 orange slices Directions: Put 1½ cups of water in a medium saucepan.
Homemade hot cocoa and toppings galore
How better to enjoy the change in seasons than with homemade hot chocolate? Use this easy recipe and top it off with a full charcuterie toppings platter. Now you can give everyone a choice of the toppings they love. For kids of all ages. (That means grown-ups too). Be careful that an adult is present to add the hot water. The difference in my hot chocolate is that I use white chocolate.
Cooking Column: Chili
Who doesn't love a one-pot meal? This delicious chili is filling, easy and perfect for fall and winter. If your family includes a big game hunter you can use venison or elk instead of ground beef. If you're a vegetarian, skip the meat and you'll still have a fulfilling meal. Adding corn gives the chili a pop of color and is a wonderful variation to chili con carne. This chili can be shared at potlucks or any gathering. It also freezes well.
Cooking: Zoodles Chicken Piccata
This recipe tastes zingy, tasty and so healthy. What's the word on the streets about zoodles? Zoodle noodles? They are a great replacement for pasta if you are watching your carb intake or just want to try something different. They have a fun texture and kids can help with the Zoodler (the spiraling zoodle maker available online or at most department stores). Zoodle noodles can also now be found in the vegetable aisle at your local grocery store. Zoodles Chicken Piccata Makes 2 servings.
Broccoli Salad is easy alternative to potato or macaroni salad
For an alternative to potato or macaroni salad throw these ingredients into a bowl to create a delicious, easy Broccoli Salad. This recipe is perfect for lunch, dinner or any gathering. This salad can also be divided up in portions and served as a side dish for several days. The broccoli will hold up nicely, the flavors will mesh, and the olives give it a fun, tangy kick. It can be served with any main course or even by itself.
Cooking Column: Salted Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
Salted Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups (Makes 24 treats in a mini muffin tin.) Ingredients: 9-ounce bag of dark chocolate chips Small jar of peanut butter (almond butter may be substituted) Coarse ground sea salt Directions: Spray muffin tin with cooking spray. Melt chocolate chips in a glass Pyrex measuring cup in the microwave for 45-50 seconds. Melt in increments of 1/4 cup of chips for 3 peanut butter cups (bottom layer) at a time. Stir chocolate well after microwaving.
Cooking Column: Sauteed Zucchini Squash Blossoms
Sauteed Zucchini Squash Blossoms If you have zucchini still blooming, this is a traditional New Mexico/southern Colorado dish. Pluck and wash a dozen zucchini squash blossoms. Cook in 1 tablespoon of butter with a bit of bacon grease (if available). Cooked best in a cast iron skillet for 5-7 minutes. Add salt to taste. Eat alone or toss gently with pasta topped with Parmesan. These are so good, and it's that simple.
