What was your first job as a journalist?
First paid job was as a local newspaper reporter: spanning everything from death knocks to appearing as a clown when the circus came to town.

Yes (ask me about the time I had to hitch a lift with a builder to get my typed English essay in on time)

Scrivener, Audacity, Lightroom, Canva, Excel, Auphonic, and many more!

Why did you become a journalist?
It's something I have wanted to do from about age eight, when my one-line review of a trip to the theatre earned me my first byline.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
A feature I wrote for the RHS magazine The Garden about a therapeutic garden for detainees at Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Everything is interesting if you look hard enough. And embrace your passions in life, because these offer a rich vein of expertise.

Staring at plants somewhere.
