Linking centromere stretch to SAC signaling in mammalian oocytes with insights from modified kinetochore model
Abstract The spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC) monitors kinetochore-microtubule interactions to ensure accurate chromosome segregation. In mitosis, investigation of its silencing at anaphase centers on whether attachment or tension is the key signal, while in meiosis for mammalian oocytes it remains unclear whether centromere stretching contributes to SAC deactivation, because in this reductional division sister chromatids co-segregate during meiosis I.

Purpose This follow-up study examined whether a parent intervention that increased the diversity of lexical noun phrase subjects in parent input and accelerated children's sentence diversity (Hadley et al., 2017) had indirect benefits on tense/agreement (T/A) morphemes in parent input and children's spontaneous speech.
Research Brief: Do High School Students Know Their Parents' Income?
Most students finish high school with low levels of financial knowledge, yet they are months away from important decisions about how to finance college. Students may not know about family finances, even though parental income is a key determinant of financial aid for college. This study measures the financial knowledge of high school students by comparing survey answers to actual measures of parental income from financial aid applications in a statewide sample.
Involving the public in mental health and learning disability research: Can we, should we, do we?
Patient and public involvement (PPI) is integral to UK health research guidance, however implementation is inconsistent. There is little research into the attitudes of NHS health researchers towards PPI. This study explored the attitude of researchers working in mental health and learning disability services in the UK towards PPI in health research. Using a qualitative methodology, semi-structured interviews were conducted with a purposive sample of eight researchers.
