What was your first job as a journalist?
De Beers magazine, my first overseas assignment was in Italy, I knew then that I would never stop travelling
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes! I bought one at a French flea market and at Christmas I type a message out on it for my 100,000 followers! It's ancient and awesome...
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Any which way...
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
My brain, feet, hands but I love new technology too and digital print gets me fired up!
What's your favorite social network?
Facebook - it's been good for me, I find it easy to project my personality & luckily people seem to like it, I have 70k followers
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I love writing. I started out a journalist/editor, went into banking and returned to writing because that's where my heart is...
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
That's tough! Goat lady of France whose secret ingredient in her cheese is passion; crazy Australian family who bought a 94 roomed chateau!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Don't give up; be yourself; learn to write compelling stories about anything from a dog to a stranger with kind eyes...
