New Faculty Spotlight: Berk Gulmezoglu
Berk Gulmezoglu’s dedication to his research and analysis of potential microarchitectural attacks has taken him all over the world. Now, Gulmezoglu finds himself at Iowa State University, joining the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECpE) as an Assistant Professor. Beginning his education at Bilkent University, Turkey, Gulmezoglu earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical and electronics engineering, in 2012 and 2014 respectively.

The Boeing Company commits $6 million to Iowa State

A bulk of the funds will go towards the construction of the Student Innovation Center, due to open in January 2020.
Ivy College of Business to add new major in fall 2019
Next fall, there will be a new undergraduate program in actuarial science. Rahul Amba Parsa, senior lecturer in supply chain & information systems, will be the director of the new program.“An actuary is a person who is an expert in managing risk,” Parsa said. “They generally work in insurance companies.

College of Business: Students compete in 'Student Organization Showdown'
Ten clubs from Iowa State’s College of Business gathered in the Memorial Union on Thursday night to face off in a new addition to Iowa State’s annual business week — the Student Organization Showdown.This new event was created with the intention to be a break from the stress that professional networking and career fair planning can put on students. Each team was aiming to win the first place prize of $500 for their student organization.

Gerdin is home to Iowa State's Ivy College of Business. This year's business week will be held September 17 through 21. Iowa State Daily Iowa State Ivy College of Business' Business Week aims to celebrate the College of Business and create an interface between students and employers before the annual career fair.This year's Business Week will be held from Sept. 17 to Sept. 21 and the Business, Industry and Technology Career Fair will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Sept. 21 at Hilton Coliseum.
