Jared Barton’s Biography
Jared graduated from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University in the Spring of 2017, completing a degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a minor in Sport Management. He brings a wide variety of skills in the broadcast field including television, radio and online reporting, anchoring and play-by-play experience.
Jared currently holds a plethora of TV and Radio jobs in Western Pennsylvania.
Jared is a Sports Producer at KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh, where he also produces special events and shows including the Children’s Hospital Telethon and Pittsburgh Car Show.
Play-by-Play broadcasting is one of Jared’s favorite jobs. At the North Allegheny Sports Network, Jared calls lacrosse, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, ice hockey, basketball and wrestling for the internet radio stream on the Trib Live High School Sports Network. Jared also brings collegiate broadcasting experience from Syracuse and puts it to work for the Presidents’ Athletic Conference. The PAC Sports Network live video streams include men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and lacrosse.
Jared also is a freelance stage manager, camera operator and field producer for various outlets in the region.
