Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It means to inspire people to be their greater selves.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Email and with a sense you know what kind of work our magazine has published in the past.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Hootsuite, Google Drive, Facebook, Instagram...basically all the hip social media apps that all the kids are using.

Why did you become a journalist?

Because the pen is a mighty weapon.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes, I did. I wrote music reviews and sports recaps.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My article on how to tell good stories.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Write and read every day. It doesn't matter what you write or read. Just do it.

Anytime.
