Jason Pugh’s Biography

I'm the founder and editor of HumanUpgradeAI, a UK publication covering peptides, longevity, nootropics and metabolic optimisation for readers who want the evidence rather than the marketing.

I started it because most writing in this field falls into one of two failure modes: supplement copy that treats a mouse study as a human result, or blanket dismissal that treats every compound as quackery. Neither helps someone
deciding what to put in their body.

Every article is built against a verified source corpus assembled from PubMed, Europe PMC and ClinicalTrials.gov. Retracted papers are excluded before an article is written. Every cited identifier is checked against the source record
prior to publication, and numeric claims are tested against what the cited paper actually reports — not against what the compound is popularly said to do. Sources carry an evidence grade, so a reader can see whether a finding comes from
a randomised trial, a review, or work in rodents.

The practical consequence is that articles frequently report null and negative results. A piece on spermidine and autophagy is titled "Strong in Mice, Null in the Human Trial" because that is what the trial found. Where the human
evidence does not exist, I say so.

My position is pro-choice, not anti-medicine. Readers are adults capable of weighing an effect size, a study design and a gap in the literature.

I also maintain a free peptide reconstitution and dosing calculator for working out concentration, draw volume and insulin-syringe units. The site sells no supplements and carries no peptide products.

I'm available for comment on: peptide quality and contamination in compounded preparations, GLP-1 receptor agonists, longevity supplement claims, and how evidence gets distorted between a paper and a product page.

Based in the UK. I work in IT automation.
