Hey, Nothing win over Philadelphia at TLA
Hey, Nothing might be from Georgia, but after their show at the Theatre of Living Arts, I’m ready to make a case for honorary Philadelphia-band status. Between Harlow Phillips sporting an Eagles jersey, several Eagles chants, and even more declarations of love for the city, the duo made quite a compelling case. The night started with Brother Bird, who opened with a stripped-back set built around her voice and a drummer.
Sam and Louise Sullivan wow packed Free At Noon crowd with the Historic New Jersey crew
We here at WXPN are all in on Sam and Louise Sullivan, the breakout brother-sister duo who we named our October Artist To Watch, and the extended members of the Historic New Jersey Recordings family. Lucky for you (and us), the siblings and their band treated a packed Ardmore Music Hall crowd to a stellar Free At Noon set on a gorgeous day in the Philly area.

Remember Sports brings indie rock to Free At Noon before Philly Music Fest gig
Free at Noon You can tell right away that Remember Sports has chemistry. From the drummer to the guitarist to the vocalist, every member genuinely valued their craft, and it showed in how locked in they were with one another. The drummer and guitarist had my full attention. I couldn’t take my eyes or ears off them. Both played with real passion, like they were performing straight from the heart rather than just going through a setlist.
Packed Fillmore crowd had eyes glued on Suki Waterhouse, not their phones
By Jay Lebrun Suki Waterhouse knows all her angles and knows how to pose. Throughout her entire show at The Fillmore she was enjoying herself on stage, dancing seamlessly, and interacting with fans. In one instance, Waterhouse was singing her most popular song “Good Looking” and saw a fan at the barricade, crying and breaking down. “I see this fan crying, you’re going to make me cry,” Waterhouse said in response.
In My Opinion: Small city school ballot proposal worth consideration
On this year’s election ballot, voters will note a special ballot referendum pertaining to the debt limit for New York State’s small city school districts. Currently, 57 small city school districts are subject to a 5% debt limit, while all non-city school districts feature a 10% limit.
