Jeff Sharon

I am a multimedia producer, sports public address announcer, and journalism educator from Orlando, Florida. I am currently a course director for the New Media Journalism M.A. program at Full Sail University, and I am the publisher and managing editor of the Black and Gold Banneret, a UCF sports blog owned by SBNation and Vox Media. I am also the public address announcer for UCF Football and Basketball.

I have previously worked as the UCF Insider for SportsTalk Florida and 1080 The Team in Orlando. I was a sports reporter and anchor for WNEG-TV (now WGTA-TV) in Northeast Georgia, and also produced and hosted “UCF SportsKnight” for UCF Athletics. I have more than a decade of play-by-play sportscasting and public address announcing experience at the college, high school and semi-professional level. I have also done work for television stations in Orlando; Syracuse, New York; and Hagerstown, Maryland, and have also worked in sports talk radio for two Orlando stations.

Born in New Jersey and raised in South Florida, I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2005, and earned a Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University in 2006.

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, writing and playing the drums and bass guitar.
