I believe we're headed toward an age where newspapers are Sunday magazines, complete with magnificently rich and in-depth stories about the communities and the people the local newspaper serves. Everything else, from breaking news to video, will move to digital space and become even more popular as younger readers adjust to the new presence of news on their digital readers and phones.
Newspapers are incredibly powerful. They are scoffed at, minimized and mocked, but the brand name of a local newspaper still carries more news clout in its community than any other media platform. That cannot be forgotten as newspapers try to find their way in the digital age.
