HTX-019 (CINVANTI®; Heron Therapeutics, Inc. CA, USA) is a US FDA approved injectable emulsion of the NK-1 receptor antagonist aprepitant. In November 2017, HTX-019 was approved for administration as a 30-min intravenous (iv.) infusion for prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) from initial and repeated courses of moderately emetogenic chemotherapy (MEC) or highly emetogenic chemotherapy (HEC), including high-dose cisplatin, in combination with other antiemetic agents [1].
