UK dispatch: Prime Minister Keir Starmer steps down, releases ministerial responsibility
On 22 June 2026, Keir Starmer stepped down from his role as Prime Minister of the UK. As the sixth prime minister the UK has seen within 10 years, the current political climate of the UK is uncertain. Andy Burnham, who has recently been sworn in as a Member of Parliament (MP), is a popular candidate to replace Starmer as the leader of the Labour Party. Starmer’s resignation ended after his MPs lost faith in him.
UK dispatch: appeals court upholds ban on Palestine Action advocacy group, sparking debate
On 15 June 2026, the Court of Appeal held that the UK government’s proscription of advocacy group, Palestine Action, was upheld, overturning the High Court’s decision in February that the terror ban was unlawful. On 30 June 2025, Palestine Action was designated as a terrorist organisation and banned under the Terrorism Act 2000 by the former Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper.

A primary splenic ectopic pregnancy is an extremely rare entity; one that is fraught with life-threatening risks due to potential for acute hemorrhage. The diagnosis is challenging to make, and once detected, there is a distinct sense of urgency to perform operative intervention (splenectomy) prior to any impending rupture. This report describes the case of a 34-year-old female, gravida 5, para 3013, at estimated 4 weeks gestation with a 2.1 × 1.3 cm ectopic pregnancy abutting the splenic hilum.
