I use 'Demeter' -- bespoke in-house software I designed with my team for managing TV listings. Also Wordpress, Descript for video, & more.
Why did you become a journalist?
I wanted to connect with people in a more immediate and personal way about the things I cared about.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write every day. Stay alert to news. Read as much as you can. Avoid the temptation to use generative AI.
When's the best time to pitch you?
I don't mind. I read my emails first thing anyway. If your email is there, I'll see it.

A guy who wanted to sell safes via an advertorial on the best safecracking movies titled'You Were Only Supposed to Blow the Bloody Doors Off'
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
A pitch from a writer who wanted to do a weekly piece on the least watched TV shows ever made.

Tea
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Walking on the beach with my dogs, or cooking in my kitchen.

I enjoy a good game review from IGN, & Deadline for TV industry news.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That we're a lifestyle blog. I get a LOT of invitations to promote baby strollers, cricket protein, children's books, perfume and more.
