Starmer has been nominated by both Newcastle East and Newcastle North constituency Labour parties (CLPs) – which encompass Jesmond – and has a sizeable lead over rivals Rebecca Long-Bailey and Lisa Nandy.

Students planning to cast their votes in Jesmond Dec 11, 2019 by Jenny Kinnersley in Politics Most students who live in Jesmond are choosing to vote here, in Newcastle East, rather than their home constituency in tomorrow’s general election, our straw polling suggests. A majority of the 30 students we questioned along Osborne Road, in Exhibition Park and on Newcastle University’s campus stated that it is more convenient to vote in Jesmond rather than travelling home to vote.
