2014 - Commercial Television "Newscast of the Year"
Awarded "Newscast of the Year" from the Montana Broadcaster's Association for our 5:30 p.m. newscast I produced on Thursday, March 6, 2014. The town of Livingston declared a state of emergency and was ordered to evacuate, flooding was also a major concern in Yellowstone County, a Billings murder suspect changes his plea and admits to killing his wife's boyfriend and we took an in-depth look at an active white supremacy group in Billings with a long and local history. It was a great team effort that day.
National Association of Black Journalists, Salute to Excellence Awards
2013 - Top Online News Project of the Year
The NABJ annual awards competition recognizes journalism that best covers the black experience or addresses issues affecting the worldwide black community. Our News21 investigation into voting rights was honored as the top online news project of the year by the National Association of Black Journalists. The multimedia investigation “Who Can Vote” was one of three finalists in NABJ’s Salute to Excellence National Media Awards competition in the Digital Media Online News Project category. It won against another project on voting rights produced by The Nation magazine and an investigation into housing in America published by the nonprofit news organization ProPublica.

Awarded 1st place in the Region 11 Society of Professional Journalists contest for Best Independent Online Student Publication for all News21 staff for the 2012 investigation into Voting Rights in America.
