Jesse Pines, MD, MBA, MSCE, is Chief of Clinical Innovation at US Acute Care Solutions, the nation's largest physician-owned acute care group. In this role, Dr. Pines leads efforts in artificial intelligence, alternative payment models, telemedicine, research, and other innovations. He also serves as Director of the USACS Fellowship in Clinical Innovation. He is a clinical professor of emergency medicine at George Washington University (GW), and a professor of emergency medicine at Drexel University.
He works clinically in the GW ED. He also serves as a physician at Eterna Integrative in Tysons, VA.
Dr. Pines has held several university leadership and teaching roles at GW and at the University of Pennsylvania. From 2010-2018, he served as principal investigator for Urgent Matters at GW, a program that disseminates information on best practices in emergency care. He is author more than 400 peer-reviewed publications and has published nine books.
He has been a Forbes Contributor since 2024. Previously, he has contributed to TIME magazine, Slate.com, Emergency Physicians’ Monthly, Foreign Policy Magazine, MedPage Today, Medscape, ACEPNow, and the Wall Street Journal.
Dr. Pines earned his medical degree from Georgetown University. He completed an emergency medicine residency at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center and a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona.
