Born in the beautiful Canadian country side of Alberta back in 1987, Jesse knew at a young age that he was born to start businesses and pave the way for future entrepreneurs. Ever since he was a kid, he was obsessed with the likes of business greats – people like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. He read their books, he learned their strategies, and he studied their lives, knowing that he would one day go on to follow in their footsteps.
While he was busy learning and purchasing books on his favorite investors and business professionals, he saw his first opportunity to start a business. By the 1990s, Jesse and his family had moved to the Edmonton suburb of Sherwood Park. He spent time by himself in his backyard, often at the expense of his schoolwork. He was an A student, but he couldn’t seem to pry himself from learning all about business, finance, and creating wealth.
At 15 years old, Jesse saw a gap in the market. While he was purchasing books, he saw that he could purchase the books that he loved from multiple vendors at a discount, and then resell them on the web at a profit. He began to make money quickly, but saw room for growth in another commodity – computer software.
Jesse founded eDirect at just 16 years old. In no time at all, it became one of the largest resellers of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Photoshop. Jesse would give customers discounts by purchasing software first from different countries where the retail prices were cheaper. When eDirect would resell these licenses to consumers in North America, they could do so at a significant discount. This model generated more than $40 million in sales.
From there, Jesse quickly moved into a new venture, where he would sell health supplements on the web. Between 2007 and 2011, he founded more than 22 multimillion dollar supplement brands, achieving more than $500 million in sales of products like diet teas, acai berries, teeth whitening products, and more. Throughout this massive undertaking, Jesse developed the marketing strategies for each of these brands, implementing a pay-per-click advertising campaign that helped to amass nearly half a billion dollars in sales.
He founded the #1 oolong tea retailer in the United States, known as WuYi Tea, before moving on to launch Dazzle White, and then Swipe Auctions in 2010. At that time, the internet was beginning to take on new form. Social media was really becoming quite the phenomenon, and more people than ever before were using the internet for a variety of purposes. Jesse an opportunity to leverage a new online marketplace known as penny auctions.
In these unique online auctions, auctioneers would charge an auction fee for anyone interested in participating in the auction. From there, standard auction rules would apply where the last participant to bid on an item would pay the final price and win the item.
In a short time, Swipe Auctions generated more than $35 million in sales. And once again, two years after founding Swipe Auctions, Jesse looked to start another new company in the eCommerce space.
From 2012 to 2018, Jesse owned and operated Penguin Leads, a company designed to make public information easy and accessible to the public. The company served as an aggregate of public records, property records, and background check websites. During its 6-year run, the company generated more than $20 million in sales. At around the same time, Jesse used a similar model but with a different topic of conversation – vehicle history.
In 2012, Car History Group came to fruition as a collection of car history websites using a model that was quite similar to the one he used for Penguin Leads. The purpose of these websites was to make it easier for interested buyers and car owners to learn the history of their vehicles either before purchases or after purchases. Through this single, intuitive platform, customers were able to search through VIN numbers, make and models, and year models to find public information related to their vehicle’s history.
Today, Car History Group has more than 3 million monthly visitors. Since its founding, it has gone on to receive acclaim in a number of publications, including USNews, Newsweek, Fox, Detroit News, and Digital Trends.
Along with Car History Group, Jesse continues to manage a range of professional endeavors. Currently, Jesse is a proud internet marketer and entrepreneur who is very much still active in the business space. Based in las Vegas, Nevada, Jesse remains right in the thick of a developing business hub of the west.
