So long, farewell: Outgoing seniors' careers in review - The Daily Cardinal
Chris Orr, ILB (Captain) The Desoto, Texas native is undoubtedly the emotional leader of this year’s Badger defense, which has been one of the best in the nation. Orr persevered through a torn ACL his sophomore year; he has started in 29 total games since then. In ten games so far this year alone, Orr has tallied 55 tackles (11 for loss), 10 sacks and two forced fumbles. His performance against Northwestern earned him Big Ten defensive player of the week honors.

Now with two losses, the Badgers will need some help from Big Ten opponents to knock off long-time rivals Iowa and Minnesota to win the Big Ten West.
Preview: Wisconsin set for old-school battle with Iowa - The Daily Cardinal
If there is one thing that each player said when looking to Iowa-Wisconsin, they continually referred to the matchup as old school football. A “defensive battle. This is what real football looks like,” senior inside linebacker Chris Orr said. His running mate Zach Baun called the matchup “real old school football.” Now getting into the final stretch of the college football season, these games will have further implications for both teams and their postseason aspirations.
Preview: Badgers hit the road looking to keep perfect season intact - The Daily Cardinal
When then-No. 19 Wisconsin left campus for their season opener in South Florida back in August, there was a significantly smaller spotlight on the team. Many fans and analysts alike had circled the game as a potential upset spot against the Badgers, facing a scrappy USF team in the extreme humidity of hurricane season.
Northwestern more 'house cat' than 'Wildcat' early in the year - The Daily Cardinal
A slow start to the season for the Northwestern Wildcats (1-2 overall, 0-1 Big Ten) and reigning Big Ten West champions has them tied with Rutgers and Purdue with the worst record in the Big Ten. This Saturday, the Wildcats look to turn their season around against the No. 8 Wisconsin Badgers (3-0 overall, 1-0 Big Ten) at Camp Randall. The Badgers hope to get revenge for a loss last season in Evanston, which put Northwestern in position to beat Wisconsin for the division crown.
Michigan rocky through two games, looking to right the ship against Wisconsin - The Daily Cardinal
Michigan has had one of the more interesting schedules in the Big Ten this year, getting wins against “cupcake” Middle Tennessee, and then against an underrated but manageable Army team. This weekend they will put their mettle to the test against the Badgers in Madison. Coming into the season, Michigan dealt with the loss of several key defensive players, but they had plenty of things to be optimistic about as well.

Wisconsin played at Camp Randall for the first time this season, and showed just how good they can be. In the days leading up to the showdown with Central Michigan at Camp Randall, players were already getting pumped. ”It’s electrifying. It should be really fun. Been waiting for it for nine months.
Strong in the trenches: How offensive and defensive line play propelled Badgers to victory against USF - The Daily Cardinal
The Badgers lost a lot of talent on defense last season after D’Cota Dixon, Ryan Connely and T.J. Edwards all graduated. But if anything is clear from UW’s 49-0 win over USF, it’s that Jim Leonhard’s defense can still compete at an elite level. UW’s stout defensive performance along with South Florida’s risky defensive scheme allowed the Badgers to dominate the Bulls from the first drive.

Chancellor Rebbecca Blank noted in the statement the university recently received new information regarding the case that helped inform their decision.
Column: Why Hornibrook deserves fan sympathy, not scorn - The Daily Cardinal
“The most popular man on campus is the backup quarterback.” That phrase rang true in 2016 as Alex Hornibrook’s name was on the lips of fans across Wisconsin. Despite a historic 16-14 upset against No. 5 LSU, starter Bart Houston had the worst debut passer rating for a Badger quarterback since 1977 against the Tigers. Two weeks later, Hornibrook was a savior as he came in and helped save the Badgers from an embarrassing defeat to Georgia State and became the starter since that day.

It was an exciting game at LaBahn Arena tonight, with No. 1 Wisconsin ( 19-2-2-2 WCHA, 28-3-2) grinding out one of its most gritty wins of the season by a score of 4-3 over the No. 7 Minnesota Golden Gophers (16-7-3-2, 20-9-3). Anyone at the rink could tell that there was some old school rivalry bad blood on the ice. Right out of the gate the Gophers were physical, often pushing the boundaries of college checking rules.

Last April, former Wisconsin Badgers running back Corey Clement waited anxiously to hear his name called during the NFL Draft. Record-setting performance by Alex Hornibrook carries Wisconsin to 40-6 win over BYU
Last week against FAU, Alex Hornibrook watched Jonathan Taylor enter the Wisconsin record books with 223 yards as a true freshman running back.
