Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes. I learned to type on one in elementary school. I still type with two fingers sometimes.
How is social media changing news?
Social media places an emphasis on news that is fast and dynamic while also using multimedia techniques to instantly engage audiences.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Charles Foster Kane from "Citizen Kane." Sabrina Spellman would be my childhood choice.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use Microsoft Word on my laptop, a lot of notebooks and my old Sony recorder from high school. My biggest priority is portability.
What's your favorite social network?
I enjoy Instagram and Pinterest. With the right person, both of the above can be utilized in interesting and newsworthy ways.
Why did you become a journalist?
Even as a kid, the idea of being a watchdog and breaking news to the public resonated with me. I started in high school and didn't stop.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I worked at my high school paper for three years as a writer. I mainly reported on news stories, but also became familiar with page design.
What's your favorite drink?
Anything with caffeine is highly sought after. A close second is flavored, carbonated water.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I'm most likely to be attending local events. I enjoy being visible in the community as a personality and journalist.
