International Women's Forum Hong Kong At the beginning of 2026, I stepped into the role of President of International Women's Forum Hong Kong, which celebrates its 36th anniversary this year. Founded in 1974, the IWF is a global network of more than 7,500 accomplished women leaders across over 30 countries and 70 forums worldwide, spanning business, government, media, academia, arts, and social impact. Beyond the achievements, it is truly a sisterhood.

We close this year on a heavy note, with the Tai Po inferno still so present in our hearts. We carry sorrow for what happened, yet the silver lining has been witnessing how united Hong Kong is when it matters most — the outpouring of donations, blood, time, and manpower as our city comes together to heal, to support one another, and to rebuild homes. The road ahead will not be easy, but I believe deeply in the strength and resilience of the people of Hong Kong.

1 Introduction Many regional aquifer systems undergoing depletion contain “fossil” groundwater, defined as water over 12,000 years old (Bierkens & Wada, 2019; Jasechko et al., 2017). Fossil groundwater is often thought to be non-renewable, because recharge is insufficient to replenish the aquifer on human timescales under background conditions (Bethke & Johnson, 2008; Bierkens & Wada, 2019; Margat et al., 2006).

On 30 July 2024, the Prudential Regulation Authority (“PRA”) published a consultation paper (CP11/24) (“CP”) on proposed updates to its supervisory statement on international banks and its approach to branch and subsidiary supervision (SS5/21). Metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma presenting as an occipital haemorrhage
We report a case of a 63-year-old woman who was presented to the emergency department with an occipital haemorrhage secondary to a pancreatic cerebral metastasis. Pancreatic cancer is the ninth most common cancer in women in Australia, and distant disease is present in 70% of patients with pancreatic cancer at the time of diagnosis. However, metastases to the brain are rare, accounting for only 0.33%–0.57% cases antemortem.

It was the beginning of the year, many months before the FIX17 conference, when a mentor of ours emailed to encourage us to apply to speak at this inaugural FemInEM conference. New York was half a world away, and the idea that we would actually get accepted seemed remote. Nonetheless we figured we had nothing to lose – so we submitted an application. This simple email from an Emergency Physician and mentor of ours resulted in one of the most amazing experiences of our professional lives so far.
