U.K. BRP Card Holders Can Now Apply for eVisas
On 6 August 2024, the Home Office of the United Kingdom announced that all current biometric resident permit (BRP) card holders can now apply for their electronic visas online. The eVisa is replacing the hard copy BRP cards that were issued in the past. Before, only BRP card holders who received a personal invitation from the Home Office or those whose visa application approval email included specific instructions to do so were eligible to apply for an eVisa.

Entry Restrictions From Wednesday, March 18th, 2020 at midnight through Sunday, April 12th 2020, the Government of Costa Rica will prohibit the entry into national territory of tourists; the measure will not apply to Costa Rican nationals, foreigners residing in the country and bodies diplomats.

Non-essential travel includes travel for tourism or recreational purposes. Trade and commerce will continue. The definition of what constitutes “essential” travel remains open to interpretation. Minister Blair today referred to “essential” as serving and keeping Canadians healthy and safe.
