Jintak Han is a breaking news photo editor at The Washington Post. He works on stories from around the world from The Post's news hub in Seoul, a part of a round-the-clock global newsroom.
A member of Diversify Photo, Jintak has a strong interest in the topics of minorities, migration and discrimination, both in the United States, where he came of age, and in South Korea, where he was born.
Prior to joining The Post, Jintak was a freelance photojournalist working with publications around the world such as ZUMA Press, the USA Today Network, the Associated Press and as a full-time intern at the Denver Post and the Korean national daily Hankook Ilbo.
Jintak is a member of the National Press Photographers Association and the Asian American Journalists Association. He is also an alumnus of the Eddie Adams Workshop.
Jintak is currently pursuing his master's degree in photojournalism at Ohio University's School of Visual Communication. He completed his undergraduate education at UCLA in linguistics and Asian languages and cultures with a concentration in modern Japanese.
Jintak is a native speaker of English and Korean and a highly proficient speaker of Japanese. However, if he sees a cat, he may start speaking in a tongue only cats understand.
