Low-temperature polyethylene terephthalate upcycling by phenolic ionic liquids
Abstract Upcycling end-of-life polyethylene terephthalate (PET) to valuable chemicals is crucial for achieving circular economy. However, in practice it faces many challenges, such as harsh operation conditions and the generation of lower-quality products needing down-processing. Here we develop a phenolic ionic liquids-mediated process that is capable of complete PET conversion into valuable monomers at 70 °C in the presence of various nucleophiles.

High‐performance Poly(biphenyl piperidinium) Type Anion Exchange Membranes with Interconnected Ion Transfer Channels: Cooperativity of Dual Cations and Fluorinated Side Chains
Abstract The performance of alkaline fuel cells is severely limited by substandard anion exchange membranes (AEMs) due to the lower ionic conductivity compared to the proton exchange membranes. The ionic conductivity of AEMs can be effectively improved by regulating the microphase structure, but it still cannot meet the practical use requirements.
UV-Crosslinkable Anthracene-based Ionomer Derived Gas “Expressway” for Anion Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells
UV-Crosslinkable Anthracene-based Ionomer Derived Gas “Expressway” for Anion Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells Bowen Wang, Ji Pan, Xiuyang Zou, Junliang Zhao, Guodong Xu, Zhiyu Jin, Zhe Sun and Feng Yan Abstract The ionomer binder is crucial for the preparation of homogeneous catalyst layers for anion exchange membrane fuel cells (AEMFCs). However, the dense stacking of the ionomer on the catalyst surface results in large resistance to gas (especially O2) penetration in the three-phase boundary (TPB).
Machine learning analysis and prediction models of alkaline anion exchange membranes for fuel cells
Machine learning analysis and prediction models of alkaline anion exchange membranes for fuel cells† The degradation of anion exchange membranes (AEMs) hindered the practical applications of alkaline membrane fuel cells. This issue has inspired a large number of both experimental and theoretical studies. However, it is highly difficult to draw universal laws from the resulting data.
