Have you ever used a typewriter?
I own several typewriters and learned to type on one.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use: AP ENPS, Avid iNews, multiple internal Hearst/NBC software systems, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and many more..
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I'm am most proud of the series on schools in Egypt. The series concluded after protests happened outside the office.
What's your favorite drink?
My favorite drink is traditional coffee. Many think of it as Turkish or Greek but there are many versions of this throughout the world.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
If I'm not at a computer, I am most likely reading a book.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I read many publications: France24, DW, NYT, MadaMasr, Reuters, MSNBC, CNN, LATimes and for bookish fun Book Riot.
