Working as a reporter for a daily newspaper north of Boston.

Of course.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

It’s a joy and responsibility to be a professional storyteller. I have a front row in history. As a curious person it’s fantastic.

Mostly magazines and books I’ve launched.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Focus. Find a niche, become an expert and try to find original angles into a story.

Morning.

What's your favorite drink?

Water. I know, boring.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Biking.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That I cover celebrity journalism.
