Invaders from Mars (1953) 4K UHD
#10 Paid £25 for it as selling worldwide on amazon now & promoting it....... TBH its garbage would not waste your money! Loads of splodgy weird grain which totally masks actors face details in a few shots. This is one of the few times it could have done with more DNR instead of none....

The Pink Panther 5-Film Collection (1963-1978) 4K UHD
#1 Release date: 16/12/2025 (US) Links: TBA Last edited: 32 minutes ago #2 Typical - just bought the DVD set! #3 Whenever i see kino lorber now I can’t help thinking there’ll be a superior version coming along from arrow in due course. Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
Night of the Demon Blu-ray Review & Comments
#2 Good review Simon. I watched this not long ago. Its a very good film but I am not sure it is a classic for me. The demon at the end...if only they hadn't shown it! Would make a great double bill with The Haunting (1963) which is a superior film for me. It would also go well with The Devil Rides Out maybe. Will certainly pick up the standard edition at some point though! #3 It is the unnerving performance of Niall MacGuinness that lifts this out of the ordinary for me.

Babylon 4K Blu-ray Review & Comments
#2 Nice review Cas. Still dont fancy watching this much though! #3 Probably my favourite film of the year. Saw it twice at the cinema. An absolute epic. Can’t wait for the Steelbook. #4 I'll be buying this on disc for sure, so thanks for the review Cas. The film seems to be a bit of a marmite job so obviously I've no idea which side of the fence I'll be on but the AV credentials sound first class so it's a no-brainer for me. 145" 2.35 screen. Decent projector, decent audio.
Scarface Remake (TBA) directed by Luca Guadagnino
#1 A new version of Scarface is headed to the big screen from Universal Pictures. Deadline reports that the studio is developing a new version of the 1983 Brian De Palma cultureal phenomenon. Writers have been meeting with the studio to craft a script to be produced by Marc Shmuger and Martin Bregman (who also produced the '83 film). The project is not plannned as a remake or a sequel.

Barry Lyndon (1975) 50th Anniversary Edition (4K UHD/Blu-ray Steelbook)
I ordered the Criterion from America thinking it'll maybe be a US only release and the only way to get a 4k release of Barry Lyndon. Just noticed this pre-order online tonight and of course, I had to place a pre-order! I'm not at all disappointed about making the US order as I'm a big fan of the film as I am with most of Kubrick's work. Barry Lyndon is one of my favourite Kubrick films along with 2001, Eyes Wide Shut, The Shining and Full Metal Jacket.

Do any of you pimp your steelbooks?
7Dahl7 Standard Member #1 I just bought the kick ass steelbook and the first thing I did was to toss the dvd and put in a bluray disc from another purchase, that had a superior soundtrack (7.1 track vs 5.1) and some danish subtitles. Do any of you pimp your steelbooks with discs from other releases or do you keep them 100 % original? #2 Most of the time, i prefer to keep steelbooks in their original state.

The Steven Seagal Thread
Hi guys! I've been mulling this over for a while now and have hinted (threatened? ) about creating a thread on this almighty legend of the big screen - and the small screen(s) come to that. There was a podcast not so long ago here debating the merits (and otherwise) of the likes of Belly of the Beast - a latter day Seagal film which certainly would uh ...divide opinion amongst us action film fans (to say the least).
Mulholland Drive 4K Blu-ray Review & Comments
#2 Thanks for the review, Simon. A fave movie of mine and essential purchase. The film is packed with so many themes and emotions that it's a classic on so many levels - and not just Lynchian ones. You're acting like a snail on a wet Friday. #3 Great film and the box comes in handy if you need a replacement house brick There's even a hidden compartment to conceal Werther's Originals in Last edited: #4 Quite possibly the finest film of the 21st century.

Project Hail Mary (Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller) (20th March 2026) Trailer Added
Drax1 Outstanding Member #1 Phil Lord and Chris Miller are set to direct and produce Ryan Gosling's new astronaut movie based on an upcoming novel from The Martian author Andy Weir. collider.com Ryan Gosling is to headline a new space movie to be producer and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. It's an adaptation of Andy Weir's upcoming novel. As he was responsible for one of my favourite books in recent years, The Martian (even better than the film imo), this is very much a must see project.
