How far you've ridden in 2018
August was a shortened month, with two weeks on Maui. Instead of renting a bike, I walked, hiked, snorkeled, and boogie boarded. So, August pulled fewer miles than January, February, or March -- just 317.2 miles and 2 Perimeter Rides. Y-T-D 5,626.5 miles (3,840.7 road miles + 1,785.8 hamster miles) and 36 PRs. Now trailing Curt(is)2017 by 1,566.8 miles and 17 PRs. Damn, that 2017 is unrelenting!

Thanks for looking but I'm reconsidering and will see about fixing this one up a bit and keeping it in the stable. Great vintage 'barn find' bike project. When The Commute Brings Something Special
My apartment building is at the bottom of a hill in DC. It's a great neighborhood, I can bike downtown very quickly, and it's right by lots of fun restaurants, coffee shops, etc. To commute to work, I can go downhill to DuPont but that's an extra Metro stop and somehow doesn't feel right to me - why go backwards/further away from my destination just because of one darned hill?

Chainlink National Bike Challenge Team 2018?
Jon, looks like they've changed things a bit, here's some text from a description of the challenge this year: "From May through September, we have leaderboards, prizes and two more focussed month-long challenges - one for social teams in May, and the other for workplaces in September." The social team thing that's going on right now is weighted pretty heavily towards "encourager" points it seems. And it looks like our 'team' is in a 'pool' instead of 'competing' with all teams.
