INTRODUCTION The lamina joint (LJ) is an organ that determines the leaf angle (LA) between the leaf blades and the main stem (Sinclair & Sheehy, 1999). Erect leaves improve the penetration of sunlight into dense fields, thereby increasing the photosynthetic efficiency of the canopy and enabling higher planting densities to increase grain production (Wang et al., 2020). LA is influenced by both external and internal factors, including nutrient availability, temperature, and multiple phytohormones.
