What was your first job as a journalist?

Covering; Petition for Justice for Curacao Students; in 2015, whilst I was still in college.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Never have used one to write a story; but would like to one day own an old typewriter.

How is social media changing news?

Making everything more easily available and accessible, but also it is a breathing ground for bullying and fake news to more easily influence

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

By coincidence, I would say it was Boris Johnson; who is now the Prime Minister of UK.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Means a heavy responsibility to relay the data, information and truth as it is, uncompromised and unwavering. It is Great!

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

Probably from Alyssa Milano; with the #MeToo, but it came to be a changemaker. Morale of story - Never judge a twit by the bird it comes from

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Regularly straight forward and under 15 seconds with a lot of fast talking (smile).

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Simple basics of Mic, Camera, Smartphone, Computer/Laptop, Word Processor, Excel and other software programs.

What's your favorite social network?

Blogger would have to lead the way, followed by Youtube then Twitter.

Who do you wish followed you?

Steve Swartz, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Boris Johnson and King Willem Alexander (King of the Netherlands)

Why did you become a journalist?

After seeing the injustice of a Parliament pretending to be unaware of students being taking advantage of by the laws they created, I stood..

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No! Our high school did not have a HS Newspaper and in College; I was ostracized and victimized by my School Director for exposing the truth.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

The Story on; Curacao's Healthcare Crisis, A Problem That Is Getting Worst!

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Be truthful, be brave, leave no stone unturned and understand that your work makes a difference.

When's the best time to pitch you?

I am a open scheduled and open minded, ready as the news or ideas comes or is presented, therefore anytime!

What's the best pitch you ever got?

It was about the Lebron James not the King of Curacao anymore...

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

About the Brett Kavanaugh whiles he was being grilled in the congressional hearing on being accused of sexual assault...

What's your favorite drink?

Virgin Pina Colada

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Either in my very small winery making wine, or in the kitchen; cooking and baking, playing the piano or doing scientific or medical research

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Besides mine, I would have to say James Stovall, his writing is very interesting.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That is difficult to answer, since I relay the facts from an objective viewpoint, but that my reporting makes it seem I am much older ....
