Jo Waters’s Biography

Award-winning medical journalist, author and digital consultant. I write about health and medicine for national newspapers, consumer magazines, trade journals and digital clients.
My niche is turning complicated medical jargon into readable topical stories by quoting credible experts and finding compelling case histories.
I write regularly for the Daily Mail Good Health section, the Daily Telegraph, Saga magazine, Community Practitioner magazine,Acuity, Fortis and Re:Solve Global Health. I also provide media strategy advice on a consultancy basis and am available for content project work.
I am a former chair of the Guild of Health Writers ( 2011 to 2013) and in 2017 I was named Journalist of the Year by the Health Food Manufacturers' Association. In 2018 I was named Case Study Writer of the Year in the Medical Journalists' Association Awards.
I am also author of three health books, the latest of which 'What's Up With Your Gut?' (Hammersmith Health £14.99 ) is co-written with Professor Julian Walters, a consultant gastroenterologist at Imperial NHS Trust, London.
